Alison played a role in driving the establishment of the New Zealand LCM Centre when she was employed at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF). At MAF she led the development of the New Zealand GHG Footprinting programme which involved a proactive national and international response to the growing need for establishing the environmental credentials of New Zealand export products. She is a strong supporter of the Centre and for utilising life-cycle management approaches to support sound decision-making in product and policy development. For the last two years she was employed at New Zealand Post where she was the Manager of International Relations. This involved negotiating international rules around postal supply chains with regards payment, market development, and standards. Alison was part of the ISO and World Resource Institute committees at their early stages of developing international standards for GHG footprinting of products. She retains a close interest in this work and in seeing the long-term success of the NZ LCM Centre. Alison has a background in international law as well as chemistry and is currently living in France.
