Clare Broadbent is Manager for Life Cycle Assessment at the World Steel Association and has been in this post since June 2007.

Clare is the focal point for the steel industry's work on LCA, which includes responsibility for the worldsteel LCA Expert Group and Life Cycle Inventory global data collection, working with different stakeholders and external bodies such as the European Commission for the development of their LCA database and in the development of ISO standards.  She works continually with industry, academia and consultants on providing steel life cycle inventory data and information for individual projects or initiatives.

Clare's work also involves developing LCA expertise in different regions around the world to ensure a global approach to LCA in the steel industry.

Clare graduated from the University of Bradford in the UK in 1999 with a B.Sc (Hons) in Environmental Management and Technology.  She started her career at Tata Steel's Research, Development and Technology site in Rotherham as an Envrionmental Researcher then moved to the Stocksbridge steelworks as Environmental Engineer.  In 2005, Clare moved to Brussels, Belgium for a position at EUROFER, managing their project on Integrated Product Policy.
