Dave Maslen

Dave Maslen is currently Manager - Innovation and Sustainability at the New Zealand Merino Company, an integrated sales, marketing and innovation company focused on adding value ot New Zealand merino fibre and driving the differentiation and associated value capture for New Zealand primary produce.  Prior to NZ Merino, Dave graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor of Applied Science, and spent several years working in environmental advocacy roles within local government. 

Dave has a strong focus on using validated sustainability based platforms to support both the positioning of branded products in market, and to improve sustainability.  It is this approach that Dave believes will enable value capture and ultimately economic sustainability for partners throughout the value chain; growers to retail brands.  Dave also sits on a number of national and international sustainability focused working groups advocating for the position of wool as a sustainable and ethical textile fibre.
